The Process behind the Products:

What makes Ola Tropical Apothecary products so unique?

Ola Tropical Apothecary brand started as a family passion project twenty years ago, and we have stayed true to our values and moral compass ever since.

Our brand features three complete collections of retail and back bar products that focus on Body Care, Facial Care and Self Care / Wellness.   Every product we make highlights carefully curated Hawaiian plant distillates and extracts, premium tropical oils and island elements that create a tropical synergy of skin benefits.

The botanicals we use target a variety of skin needs, providing essential vitamins and minerals, proteins, enzymes, moisture, hydration, conditioning, cleansing, pain relief, purification, soothing, calming and balancing elements.

We have over twenty years of experience studying Hawaiian healing plants, fruit, flowers and natural island elements to provide you with locally made artisan crafted small batch beauty and wellness products that deliver the real thing from This Land of Aloha!

Ola Tropical Apothecary small farm project has grown dozens of ingredients for our products over two decades.  This process involves harvesting, distilling, extracting, and drying ingredients and infusing them into our product lines. Our goal is to reflect Hawaiian culture by honoring ancient plant wisdom in the creation of island synergy.

We grow Mamaki, Aloe Vera, Sugar Cane, Taro, Turmeric, Ginger, Hibiscus, Gardenia, Liliko’i, Noni fruit, Kukui nut, Papaya, Pineapple, ‘Awa, Okinawan Sweet potato and Lemongrass.

In addition, we support other local small farmers and businesses to infuse a wide variety of other natural island ingredients into our collections including Hawaiian Seaweed, Hawaiian honey and beeswax, Hawaiian salt, Hawaiian sea minerals, tropical nut oils, coffee beans and island made essential oils.

We have worked with cultural practitioners to learn more about the use of native plants in Hawaiian healing traditions, and Hawaiian healing practices.  We have also worked with educational programs to help teach kids about Hawaiian plants, organic farming, natural farming techniques, and how to make value added agricultural products to promote cultural values.   This includes the making of our small lomi sticks to perpetuate the understanding of the importance of self-care and massage, using invasive Waiwi (strawberry guava) and turning it into something healing.

Our team at Hawaiian Body Products works hard to ensure that our high standards are met in every step of the process; from growing, wild crafting and harvesting, to drying, distilling, extracting, blending, filling, labeling, storing, shipping, and providing excellent customer service, to ensure our commitment to quality and to honor the culture we seek to represent.

We also support other local organizations aligned with our values, helping and supporting our community and our ʻĀina.
